Aivars Osvalds joins LatCham as an individual member. He is an information technology consultant for government contractors in the Washington, DC area. He has also been a consultant to the Ministry of Defense during NATO accession period (2002-2004).

Aivars is the past President of the American Latvian Association and former Board Member of World Federation of Free Latvians. Currently on the ALA Board. He has also directed the Latvian Youth Seminars „2x2.” He has a long history of being involved in many projects in the local Latvian community including liaison for the Smithsonian Folklife Festival and Latvian Ministry of Culture, and coordinating events for the Latvian Organizations of Washington.
